TAGxAPI is an open forum for participating stakeholders to discuss all issues affecting the successful adoption of xAPI as well as an archive of the work of the xAPI community.
Our work began in September 2017. In that month, the IEEE LTSC voted to create a new Technical Advisory Group dedicated to xAPI which has come to be known as TAGxAPI.
- In March 2018, we began a monthly webinar series on xAPI case studies.
- In April 2018, we voted to propose a Project Authorization Request (PAR) for the IEEE standardization of xAPI. The LTSC accepted our recommendation and the PAR was submitted to the IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA). That PAR was accepted by the IEEE-SA and the LTSC P9274.1.1 xAPI Work Group was formed to carry out the work.
- In the summer of 2018 we approved publication of the first IEEE LTSC Technical Report on xAPI. The report is the work of over 50 authors with technical expertise in the space of xAPI and learning analytics.
TAGxAPI is open to the public. Anyone can participate in these discussions and in the work. Our start point is the xAPI 1.0.3 specification. We discuss all aspects of xAPI such as xAPI Profiles and the relation of xAPI to SCORM and cmi5. The end point is open-ended and will include evaluation and recommendations for best practices.
We meet on the third Tuesday of each month at 2:30 PM Eastern.
Members: please note that we are now using the LTSC meeting room as it has more capacity for our monthly webinars. Access info is as follows:
